Cedar Falls, Ash Cave and Old Man's Cave

One thing I have to say about where I live, I can enjoy the scenery in a tourist area. We have people come from miles and miles around to visit our gorgeous views. I am also fortune to have a very good friend that owns a rental cabin so on the days that it isn't rented, we go up there for a little R&R ourselves:) I see inspiration for works of art in the texture of the rocks and foliage and If we look hard enough, we might even find a faerie or two!

What could this twinkling be? Could it be a woodland faerie in the tree top?

The Month of May

The month of May has came and nearly over. It was filled with graduations, proms, and quilting for various events in one's life. I posted a couple of my customer quilts with their permission. I don't take credit for the piecing, but the quilting is what I have done.

As for the prom, It's wonderful and hard to see the 2 granddaughters, Hayley and Kristal growing into beautiful young women. The great thing is, that if someone asked me, what do you have to show for your life, I can show off their photos and just smile! Before long, they will be married off and onto a life of their own. In the meantime, I can hang onto Kitana, the 11 year old granddaughter, a little while longer:)

What a Jewel!

Michelle is such a jewel for setting up technique week. I have very much enjoyed making pendants and have some to actually show off! They will be ever so hard to let go much less figure out which is my favorite! I think they look ever so much more awesome and rich in real life. If only I were a professional photographer! It took 61 shots to find some half ways decent to post, but I did catch some bling! I loved making the ones with the earrings since I can't wear them due to allergies to metal. It's a great way for me to wear my earrings now! The molds are a great embellishment as well as finding the Crop-a-dial a favorite
tool and worth the investment! I hesitated at first wondering if I would use it that often but now find more uses than I have before. I also like using embossing powder in an unconventional way.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

I have just finished quilting a very bright salsa style quilt just in time to honor the holiday! The jagged edges seem reminiscent of a pinata! It has me doing a happy Mexican hat dance and a reason to mix up a pitcher of margarita's! Oh la la, my favorite party drink! Rest assured we will eat Mexican this evening at one of our favorite restaurants. I also just found some wonderful recipies that look very inviting on the foodnetwork.com. Mango margaritas sound so devine!

Worth Repeating

I have enjoyed making ATC's so much that I decided to do a repeat. Same technique as I had done before only this time using a piece of fabric that I hand dyed with procions in random mix with rusts and purple. I love the results and made 34. It makes me want to do a room in these colors. As always photos don't do these justice. These little guys are getting ready to go to an art show.
