Blue Me Away!

Well, as I mentioned, my granddaughter is here for a visit. She had her hair dyed blue! I have to admit, my little blueberry muffin does look rather cute this way!

I was just viewing a photo of her of what she looked like 3 years ago when we went to Disney World. Such a difference in those short years of liking Disney Princesses to switching to the Anime scene! Today we went shopping and now own plaid skirts, skinny jeans and kitty cat hoodies. lol Her birthday is next month, so we fixed her up early as well as her earning her keep with chores.

The Little Things In Life

Some days I just doodle!
There are times when I am preoccupied so I just doodle, especially when I am on the phone. I feel I just want to be productive so I would just play, a sort of multi tasking. Even in the bathroom, doing your business, I feel I can't waste busy hands. Gotta read or doodle!

Sometimes even working on the backs of cash register receipts.

My almost 13 year old granddaughter has been here for a couple of days so we have been having a grand time with paper and scissors. Some of the folded pieces are the same, but with line drawings, they actually give it different illusions. What a fun way to spend the day, especially when it was raining.

Another little thing that gives me pleasure are to make and collect Plus size inchies with others. These are 1 1/2 " pieces of art. These are just some in my collection. I got 20 of them in the mail today! I now have 75 total, so one day I will make something with them. I have thoughts of either framing them or make a valance of them for my studio unless my muse hits me and decides something else. After working on large quilts, I find it's just the little things in life that just tickle me!

Playing With Dolls

I had a swap coming up with the theme of Marie Antoinette in paper doll form. This is the result. I was pleased with how she turned out.

Don't you just love the do? I used some wool fibers that just seemed to do the trick. OOPS, I forgot to put on a beauty mark, guess I should do that before I send her off in trade.

This is the second one where the theme was lace, so I still used sort of that theme of a mascarade but gave her some sexy legs from a magazine.

A Tail of Two Kitties

I have always loved cats, but had never thought about the "tails" they keep. They seem to have a personality all of their own!

Take for instance, Herky. He is as relaxed as it gets and puts his tail proudly on display. I know it looks like it doesn't bend at all, but it does and has been known to wrap it around my finger from time to time! (If he didn't have such a broad butt, his tail would seem a lot longer!

Lately. we have had a timid stray cat hang around here and one day seemed to decide it would be fine to check out the house so in she followed me into the utility room. It amazes me how different her tail is. It's shorter and bushier as if she were part of the racoon family.

As much as i would like to keep her indoors, we have too many inside so she will have to remain an outdoor cat. She has owl like eyes, so will have to come up with a name. Ideas anyone?

It must have been the full moon to lead the path to our house!

I have never been given an award before so I humbly accept what I got from Judy Alexander! Be sure to stop by her blog too! I feel as if I have been given a trophy! I Now I must pass the award onto some of my favorite blogging friends. In turn they can copy what is below and pass onto other favorite bloggers.

The wording for this award is as follows:

The Karma Award: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kinds of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

A 4th without a fifth....

but we did have wine!

We had the best 4th of July! It was spent going to Amish country in Holmes county in Berlin, Ohio. We met up with two other couples in an RV park in which none of us have met face to face. Us girls are in an online fiber art group. We had a great time showing our trades and projects over the years. I even showed the girls how to do some roping for projects.

Left to right is Norma Jean, myself and Gabriela.

We also went into Millersburg where they put on an old fashioned celebration. On the town square, they were doing some weaving in a round hoop. So cool!

and met up with Angie from the fiber art group and her family. She has two of the sweetest little girls!

We had typically a 4th of July picnic with hamburgers and hot dogs. The guys drank beer while we drank wine. We also got a little sunburnt. We hated to end the evening as we had so much fun, but we had a 2 1/2 hour trip home. There is nothing like good food, good company and a fine wine!
