MEOW/BOW WOW!!!

I am sure you are all confused, as it is unlikely of me to paint a dog when we have 14 cats! lol I actually was a dog girl as I had grown up with them, (before I converted!) I had a dachshund as a very first pet and her name was Babs. She was such a funny dog, but she even saved our lives one night. We were living in a small trailer that had a wood stove and a spark had hit a wooden box with a pillow in it where she lay. She was barking furiously and trying to put it out and woke my mom up. Ever since then, every 4th of July we would have to keep her inside as she wanted to put out fireworks too! Then one day she fell down our basement steps, broke her back and died. It was such a sad day, but I have fond memories of her. I still remember her slick silky coat.

Dude. That was totally sad because I have a bunch of cats that I LLUURRRVE, and I hate dogs. Except that my daughter (and I guess, me..) has a weenie shitzu named Moose.
We love Moose - except that I hate dogs.
i would totally die if he broke his annoying back - which is quite long. Funny looking dogs, aren't they?

Couldn't believe this was your blog. A DOG! but then I read your story and realize that you are an "Animal lover" with a great talent to share stories and create artwork. Have a wonderful day.

I had a dachshund a long time ago named Noodles (long body like a spaghetti!) and she was a hoot...just a funny acting little dog and so lovable.

I like the drawing...and I got a big kick out of the egg card also especially the middle one! LOL

I think your artwork is great.

Hi Wanda!
Belated Happy New Year to you!
What a lovely but sad story.
Bittersweet memories are sometimes the best ones of all, arn't they?
I too am a cat person. I'm OK with dogs....as long as they belong to someone else. We have had cats and dogs, at the same time, over the past 30 years, but my own preference is a cat.
My current cat (we are down to one from four) hates dogs and will attack them if they come into the house. When we dog-sit for my son and his wife it is interesting to say the least. They have two Jack Russle (SP?) crosses.
Both of them can walk on the ceiling....I swear. They are so wired. Anyway between them and the cat there is never a dull moment when they are all together and I am glad when the dogs are gone and back to their own home.
Thanks for sharing Wanda.
Have a great year in 2011!

Wat sad and sweet stories. We are so sorry you lost her that way, but are also glad that you got to love, enjoy and protect each other with the time that you've had. *wipes away a tear*

Such a tragic story - all I can hope is that she died quickly or that with her back broken she did not feel that much.
Lovely painting and I am glad you also have good memories of her.
